About the event
WOMEN FOR UKRAINE, the unsung heroes of the war, an anthology of uplifting stories that celebrate the remarkable women, who have contributed to Ukraine's victory in the war against Russian aggression, will have its debut presentation on May 18, 2023, at the Ukrainian Institute.
Through this project, we witness the authentic accounts of Ukrainian and American women, some famous, others less well-known, who have transformed their empathy into action, persevered in the face of overwhelming adversity, and inspired others. These stories of courage and fortitude showcase womanhood's unwavering resilience and indomitable spirit.
Among the event participants are many famous women, who have made a meaningful social impact, such Keri-Lynn Wilson, conductor of many of the world's leading opera houses and orchestras, including the Metropolitan Opera, Taira, Ukrainian paramedic volunteer Yuliya Paevskaya, awarded the International Women of Courage ("Brave Women of the World"), Alexis Anttila, a U.S. woman fighting against Russian invaders in Ukraine, Natalia Brandafi, General Manager TRT International, and many others.
